Barcelona's Joan Laporta Stands Firm on Raphinha Amid Saudi Interest

Raphinha is currently facing enticing offers from Saudi Arabia, particularly from Al-Hilal, yet FC Barcelona's president, Joan Laporta, has made it clear that the club is not considering a sale.

In recent discussions, Laporta emphasized Barcelona's commitment to retaining Raphinha, dismissing rumors of a potential transfer. "We have no interest in him leaving Barça. On the contrary: Raphinha is a key player for our team," he stated on Sunday in Dallas, asserting the player’s importance to the squad.

Despite the mounting interest from Saudi clubs, including talk of a substantial offer, Laporta remains resolute. He noted that the recent signings of Anthony Gordon and Karim Adeyemi do not signal a shift in strategy regarding Raphinha.

Laporta expressed confidence that Raphinha's presence could have significantly impacted Barcelona's performance in crucial matches, especially given the player's recent injury absence. "He is a key player for us," Laporta reiterated, showcasing the club's reliance on the Brazilian.

However, the landscape of football transfers is ever-changing, and it remains to be seen whether Barcelona will maintain their stance should an overwhelming bid from Saudi Arabia materialize. As history has shown, every player has a price, even at the highest levels of the sport.
