Mathys Tel Attracts Interest from Galatasaray and Bundesliga Clubs

Galatasaray has reignited its interest in 21-year-old Mathys Tel, as the Turkish champions seek a new striker following Mauro Icardi's departure.

According to Turkish journalist Serhan Türk, Tel has become a topic of discussion at Galatasaray. The club's management in Istanbul has been monitoring the French forward for approximately two years, particularly valuing his versatility in the attack.

With Icardi's exit confirmed, Galatasaray is on the lookout for a new forward after failing to agree on a contract extension with the Argentine striker. Tel is among the candidates being considered for this role.

Bundesliga Interest?

In addition to Galatasaray, several Bundesliga clubs are reportedly keeping an eye on the situation of the young forward, although specific names have not been disclosed.

From a financial standpoint, only Tel's former club Bayern Munich, along with Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig, and Bayer Leverkusen, are likely contenders for his signature.

Familiarity with the Bundesliga

Tel was under contract with Bayern Munich from 2022 to 2025 before making a permanent move to Tottenham for €35 million last summer. He had previously spent the second half of the 2024/25 season on loan in London.

Recently, Tel opted to remain with the Spurs after discussions with manager Roberto De Zerbi. During the last season, he made 38 appearances across all competitions for Tottenham, scoring four goals and providing two assists, while accumulating only 1717 minutes on the pitch.
