VfB Stuttgart Resists Premier League Offers for Leweling and Vagnoman

VfB Stuttgart is firmly holding onto two of its key players, Jamie Leweling and Josha Vagnoman, despite interest from the Premier League. Both players are not on the market at this time, as confirmed by recent reports.

AFC Bournemouth has made another inquiry regarding winger Jamie Leweling (25, contract until 2029). The Cherries had previously attempted to secure Leweling's services at the beginning of the year, but their efforts were unsuccessful. The latest approach, under new manager Marco Rose (49), has also been met with a negative response.

Leweling Declines Move

The rejection stems not only from an unappealing offer but also from Leweling's apparent lack of interest in a move to the English south coast, despite Bournemouth finishing sixth in the Premier League last season.

Initially, the discussions revolved around a fee of approximately 40 million euros. Recent reports from Sky indicate that Stuttgart would be open to negotiations starting at around 50 million euros.

Sporting director Fabian Wohlgemuth has made it clear that VfB sees no reason to consider a departure for Leweling. In addition to Bournemouth, other clubs such as Everton and AS Roma have also expressed interest. However, Stuttgart and coach Sebastian Hoeneß are keen on maintaining their squad, especially with the Champions League participation in mind.

Vagnoman Expected to Stay

The situation is similar for Josha Vagnoman (25, contract until 2028), who is also likely to remain with the team. Premier League newcomer Hull City has expressed interest in the right-back but reportedly wants to secure him on loan. This arrangement is not feasible for VfB Stuttgart.

Selling Vagnoman for a substantial fee seems unlikely at this point. With competitor Lorenz Assignon sidelined for several weeks due to shoulder surgery, Stuttgart cannot afford to lose personnel on the right defensive flank. Earlier reports from Sport Bild suggested that the club might consider selling Vagnoman for a fee between 10 and 15 million euros under different circumstances.
