According to reports from kicker, the 24-year-old Olise, whose contract runs until 2029, is keen to play more frequently in the attacking midfield. The left-footed player has a preference for the playmaker role, positioned behind the main striker, Harry Kane.
During the World Cup, French national coach Didier Deschamps deployed Olise multiple times in this advanced role. He impressed as a creator, notably setting a new World Cup record with seven assists, although he did not manage to score himself.
Musiala's Dominance in the Role
This desire for a central position could lead to conflicts for head coach Vincent Kompany. Bayern already has Jamal Musiala, who firmly considers the central role behind the striker as his preferred position.
Musiala is typically a starter there and is regarded as one of the key players in the club's attacking setup.
Unfortunately for Bayern, Musiala will miss the start of training. Following the World Cup, he had a metal plate removed from his left foot and will also be absent from the upcoming tour in South Korea and Hong Kong.
