Michael Olise Seeks Move to Real Madrid as Bayern Eyes Barcola Replacement

Michael Olise, the 24-year-old forward, is reportedly eager to leave Bayern Munich this summer, with Real Madrid being his preferred destination. According to Foot Mercato, the Bavarian club is already considering potential replacements in anticipation of his departure.

Barcola at the Top of Bayern's List

One of the leading candidates to fill Olise's shoes is Bradley Barcola. The young Frenchman, who is also a teammate of Olise in the national team, has played a crucial role in Paris Saint-Germain's recent successes, including back-to-back Champions League titles. His contract with PSG runs until 2028.

Barcola made a significant move to Paris in 2023, transferring from Olympique Lyon for €45 million. Over the past season, he has made 48 appearances, scoring 13 goals and providing five assists. Recently, he turned down an opportunity to join Liverpool, despite PSG reportedly being open to allowing him to leave.

Real Madrid Denies Interest; Bayern Wants to Retain Olise

Despite the buzz surrounding Olise's potential transfer, Real Madrid has publicly dismissed any interest in acquiring him. Bayern Munich's president, Herbert Hainer, confirmed that the Spanish giants reached out to quell the rumors. The club is determined to retain Olise and is even contemplating an early contract extension that could last until 2031.

If Real Madrid intends to change Bayern's mind, they would likely need to offer a record-breaking fee. The current record stands at €222 million, set by Neymar's transfer to PSG in the summer of 2017. Recent reports from Spanish media suggest that Bayern's threshold for a deal would be above €200 million.

While Olise appears to be open to a move to Madrid, he does not wish to force a departure. As of now, there have been no concrete discussions between Real Madrid and Bayern Munich regarding this potential transfer.
