Manchester United Close to Signing Youri Tielemans

Manchester United appears to be on the verge of securing Youri Tielemans from Aston Villa. The Belgian midfielder has reportedly agreed to join the Red Devils.

According to Sky Sports, Manchester United and Tielemans have reached a verbal agreement on a long-term contract. Negotiations between the Red Devils and Aston Villa are also at an advanced stage.

Currently, Tielemans is under contract with Aston Villa until 2028. The 29-year-old made a free transfer from Leicester City to the Villans in 2023, after Leicester had previously paid €45 million to AS Monaco.

In the past season, the Belgian featured in 35 matches across all competitions, scoring two goals and providing seven assists. One of his standout moments was his goal in the Europa League final against SC Freiburg, which ended in a 3-0 victory.

Tielemans also showcased his talent during the World Cup, where he scored twice in five matches before Belgium's exit. He missed the quarterfinal match against Spain due to injury.
