Nicolas Jackson's Future at Chelsea Looks Promising Under Xabi Alonso

Nicolas Jackson, the 25-year-old forward, appears to have a renewed opportunity at Chelsea under the guidance of new manager Xabi Alonso. The former Real Madrid coach has integrated Jackson into the team's preparations for the upcoming season.

Jackson's prospects at Chelsea seem brighter as he joins the squad for their pre-season tour in Asia. "Nico Jackson will be part of the tour, and we are looking forward to working with him," Alonso stated, indicating his intention to evaluate the striker closely during this crucial period.

Previously, Jackson was considered a potential candidate for transfer, with clubs like Newcastle United, AC Milan, and Juventus showing interest. At one point, he was even mentioned as a possible trade asset. However, his future at Stamford Bridge is now seemingly more viable.

In the summer of 2025, Jackson moved to Bayern Munich on a loan deal worth €16.5 million. While he performed well as a backup to Harry Kane, Bayern chose not to exercise their option to buy him.

Reports suggest that Bayern coach Vincent Kompany was keen on retaining Jackson, but the club's management deemed the €65 million buyout fee too steep.

Jackson originally joined Chelsea in 2023 from Villarreal for €37 million, and he is contracted to the club until 2033. The next few weeks will be pivotal in determining how his situation unfolds as he seeks to make an impact in London.
